Yes, there can be delays. What sucks is if you take an earlier train and you don’t have a delay you just get there early.

But yes snow can mess with the trains. Cold temperatures can prevent them from starting too.

As others have said, an having a plan b would be handy. You can check on the MBTA site for alerts on that line prior to leaving for the train. That should give you some idea as to whether the train will be viable or not.

The commuter rail schedule can be affected by someone sneezing on some days.

Sarcasm aside, a lot of lines have been only running like one train an hour since Covid, and my line (Fitchburg line) often isn't even on time even during good weather.
