Too drunk to walk? Then take your scooter like everyone else.
And if you are to unfortunately crash you”ll land softly in the Charles
If you’re too drunk to walk 8 minutes you’re probably too drunk to open another bottle 🤣🤣🤣
It was definitely a fun day
the next one not as much
I feel like I hit 'too drunk to operate a phone' before 'too drunk to walk around'.
Two brains are better than 4 legs
That's why it's important to have a designated walker.
Premie diapers from target a 10 min walk away. 6 days post partum in a 90 degree July day. Fuck that.
Valid
I ordered a latte and mini cheesecake from a place that is a less than 10 minute walk or 2 minute drive. I could have even called ahead and it would have been ready right when I got there.
But I was taking mental chill day and didn't want to bother with a bra.
You never have to bother with a bra. Most menfolk ain't complaining, especially if you are wearing a white t-shirt and it is raining.
Idk if I should/s this or not. While it is a tongue in cheek comment it also sounds creepy. Meanwhile in support of all creepy old men and lesbians I support your right to go out braless.

Nah man, it's just creepy.
Ah and here it is the unnecessary sexualization women comment. 🙄

I get delivery all the time and I’ll choose another place if somewhere is too close to me because I don’t want the driver to judge me.
I used to work for Grubhub (as a designer) but I interacted with drivers a bunch for user testing, etc I can assure you they are STOKED on a really quick-delivery if the tip is the same as a long one (Like if you're going to tip $8 for the closer place AND $8 for the further place, just do closer they wont judge you, they will be stoked to be able to get paid and onto the next order faster. #Judgementfreezone
Literally just did this. Friends gave us a Grubhub gift card and we were gonna order from our normal Thai place but it’s a 10 min walk lol so we ordered from somewhere that’s a 20 min drive away.
Any delivery driver would prefer the same or close to same money for a shorter delivery. There isn’t really any judgment beyond “your sloth is my gain”.
I haven’t done it myself, but I live next to a McDonald’s, and I’ve seen McDonald’s bags from UberEats in the lobby of my apartment building (even though the McDonald’s entrance is visible from our lobby…).
North Quincy? Sheesh, I don't even think I'm lazy enough to do that.
ETA for those not familiar with the area, you could walk longer to take your dog out to pee than you'd need to walk to go pick up your food.
Yup! I’ve also seen Panera and Applebee’s deliveries in the lobby, which are almost equally bad (although not quite literally 50 feet away).
I can only hope that there are good reasons for the McD’s deliveries. Maybe someone sent it to a friend/family member? Or it was somehow cheaper to get it delivered than to purchase it for pickup? I dunno.
Or illness/Covid.
I once ordered a $5 breakfast sandwich from a place down the street. Cost me $15 all in, arrived cold, I didn't eat it.
Were your hands broken?? lol why couldn’t you eat it 🤣
Once had the Domino's 600ft from my apartment deliver because they were closed for pickup but open for delivery only. Delivery guy judged us very hard.
I mean closed is closed what did he want you to do about it lol. Dems the rules
Right? I would have happily walked over to pick it up, but they wouldn't give us the option! Not my fault bro, I'm just drunk and want some pizza.
In high school we ran up against this - went to the door and they said they were only open for delivery. Went back to the car and called on a cell phone and tried to order it to the parking lot. Whoever answered didn’t appreciate it and refused to deliver it to us. I still don’t quite understand what the problem was and regret now that we didn’t just go across the street and have it delivered to a stranger’s house.
Were you ordering the Golden Flounder?
If I’m gonna spend twice as much on delivery I’m getting something I can’t normally get nearby
Costco at rush hour. No thank you. I'll gladly give 30% in tips.
Wine delivered because I’d rather pay someone a generous tip than lose my parking spot
That’s valid
Pizza, five doors down. Nasty weather. They didn’t use the delivery guy, one of the counter guys walked it over and got a big tip for his trouble.
I ordered delivery from the Thai place at the end of the block on a Friday night when I was a bit under the weather and just feeling tired. I tracked them while they drove over a mile to get here. Serves me right, I guess.
I was super sick a few weeks ago and had never used door dash before...got the most expensive ginger ale and pretzels from down the street money could buy!
One of my kids used to order chinese food from the place across the alleyway for delivery.
I finally got Door Dash for the first time because I had the flu and couldn’t muster the will to cook or do pickup.
I live within a 7min walk from a ton of places I order delivery from all the time lol. I have a free DD membership so it doesn’t cost much more, and I figure the drivers are glad to have an ezpz pickup.
How did you get a free DD membership? I got a free grubhub one through Amazon prime.
Chase Sapphire card
I’m a doordash driver and have delivered some random things to lazy ass people. Last week I delivered a single glade candle from cvs to a house 1/2 a mile away from the store. That’s all they ordered.
Just now, wine.
burger from 0.1 miles away it’s hard to live with the shame
Not a delivery but I recently got the address of the Dunks I was trying to order from wrong TWICE, once when I was actually in the store having just realized I had entered the wrong store in the app, yet I refused to go to the counter to order. I really wanted that strawberry coolatta and wanted to order it through the app. I got on the bus after i finally got the drink and passed one of the other stores I'd mistakenly ordered from and saw the drink on the counter. With whip.
Yesterday I ordered Chinese that's 2 blocks away.
I lived at the address 417, and ordered a sandwich delivered from a place with like a 490 address.
I told them my delivery address over the phone, and the response was “….oh.”
I could walk to Ashmont Market in less than 10 minutes. I’ve gotten it delivered several times when I was hungover. In my destense, the walk back is uphill.
Water
A breakfast sandwich and coffee from a sandwich shop on property, no more than a minute walk away. I had a bad hangover and didn't want to deal with the sun and thought "Yeah this'll be an easy tip for someone". The delivery driver got lost, went to a completely wrong store two towns over, and had to call me to give them directions to the correct store. The order arrived, finally, an hour and a half late. The end result was the delivery driver took and delivered the wrong sandwich, wrong name on the bag and everything, and I didn't even get a coffee.
I later found out the place had their own personal website I could order pickup from, so now I order from that and walk there. Hangover be damned.
I was sick as a DOG for over a week and all I wanted was a medium iced blueberry coffee with oat milk. Ended up paying about $20 for that damn coffee to be delivered to me less than a block from my front stoop.
A grinder from the shop at the end of the street. My best guess is the shop is 165 yards from my house.
College friend had a diet coke delivered by a pizza place. That particular pizza place had an agreement with our college dining services, so they accepted college dining hall credits. This friend would order a coke or just a cookie to his off-campus housing all the time. I'm not sure how that pizza chain made money off of it.
Santarpios. I live 4 houses down.
Myself. I paid for my pass damnit, I’ll take the bus 1 stop sometimes if I feel like it and it’s already coming down the street.
I used to live literally across the street from a pizza place in Cambridge MA. I ordered from there regularly. Always made them laugh. It gets cold af in Boston and sometimes I don’t wanna leave my warm cocoon so I pay tip and delivery fee for them to walk across the street with my one pizza all for myself.
I have zero regrets.
Sushi. I live about 5 min from a Genki YA, After a long day of conference calls - 10 hours worth of eye stabbing management shenanigans - I had a mountain of rolls delivered, to restore my faith in humanity.
When I had COVID last year, I was really jonesing for a very specific iced coffee from Starbucks. My husband and I never order delivery, but I made an exception for this. I got a promo for $10 off $25 my first order or something, so I also got a bunch of the prepackaged snacks which were also great to have. The baristas actually put a nice sticker on my bag. :)
My off campus friend in Troy NY had the delivery guy from Red Front walk 25 feet across the street to bring them pasta and pizza
I get dominos delivered twice a month from a store two blocks away.

Zoe's.
It's a 5 minute walk.
My wife had chips delivered. They were nearly particulate matter by the time we opened the bag.
My phone
There's a pizza place 400 ft from my place, and I order delivery every time I want pizza
I ran out of coffee at 6PM, store is maybe 5 minutes away. I had six bags of coffee delivered by 5 AM the next day, instead. Its a good thing all my ancestors were cremated, or they would be rolling over.
I've ordered delivery from a restaurant which is about a 5-minute walk away from me many times.
I've also considered ordering delivery from a café which is right across the street.
Door dash a single coke from time to time form mickey D's
I had gatorade delivered from a CVS down the street while I was holed up with norovirus.
I had Chinese takeout delivered from a place 2 blocks from my apartment one because I really didn't want to put on shoes
Once upon a time before the delivery app prices got all fucked up MacDonalds used to actually be affordable me and my friend used to get the deals (it was like Family Bundle™ for the price of a regular meal deal) for a MacDonalds that was literally idk 5 minutes walk away? It was literally just at the end of the road and then had to cross nonantum street
Not a short distance but when I had Covid I ordered a sandwich from Sam Lagrasa’s from Grubhub which ended up being like $40. Not my best.
Once I moved to a new apartment and ordered pizza from my then-favorite place. What I didn't realize was that the place was literally up the street from my new apartment, a seven minute walk. I guess the drivers didn't bother to even do it or something because it didn't show up at all, I had to call the pizza place, and about two hours later my pizza and sides arrived cold.
Haven't ordered from there since lol.

Charlie's Pizza in Allston. I lived on Kelton Street at the time and could see Charlies from my building lmfao.
I have a grocery store on the other side of the street and I get delivery. I usually get a lot at once instead of going frequently. So it’s nice to wheel my caster shelves to the lobby and get my stuff and just bring it up and not leave the building.
Got a drink and hashbrowns from Dunkin on Uber eats. Dunkin is a 10 or so minute walk away. I am just oh so lazy
braces wax from a CVS two blocks away because I chipped a tooth 🙃
Indian from the place that’s literally around the corner from me. It’s maybe a 4 minute walk lol
I ordered taco bell but they forgot the hot sauce, so I placed a separate door dash order for 20 hotbsauces. I also had to add a small thing of creamy garlic on the side since the hot sauces are free, my order had to be a minimum of like $3 lol
I haven't ever done anything really wild, maybe a couple places that were like a 15 minute walk or so. However, back when I worked at the Chipotle in Harvard Square (RIP, good riddance) we had a delivery order for the store upstairs, which I believe was an REI or some other outdoors store. The driver didn't even have to leave the building or take the stairs, because there was an escalator right through our side door in the building lobby. Not a big order either, like a single burrito or something. I assume they had a delivery only promo, otherwise it makes no sense.
I took an Uber from the beginning of Hanover street to 3/4 of the way down Hanover. It was 2014 when we have mountains of snow and it was very cold. We split it. It was well worth $2.50
Hookah and coals
I once ordered delivery from a sushi place 450ft from my house. It was well over 100 degrees out and I didn’t want to leave the air conditioned house. Tipped the guy well though
a restaurant attached to the building I was living in.
I've had ice cream delivered from a place 1.5 miles away
Jerseys Mikes. Its a mile away. But those fucks forgot my chips

a corkscrew from a cvs that was an 8 minute walk away (at noon) because we were too drunk to walk there
