20 books as well, 1 collection of essays, 2 nonfiction histories, 2 novellas or self contained short story, 3 graphic novels, 3 memoirs, 3 short story collections, 6 novels. Two five star reads, a YA memoir Free Lunch and a reread of God of Small Things.

I'm at 40 right now, and expect to finish one more today. Lots of good stuff this month. I've been mostly working through older works I haven't read yet by favourite authors.

I read 8 books, but half of them were novellas or short stories, so it felt like cheating. My favorite was probably Excellent Women by Barbara Pym. It's a love/hate relationship. I wanted to shake the main character Mildred, a single woman in her 30's, because she had no ambition. But I loved the writing style, Mildred's sarcastic inner monologue, and her flirtation with her smooth-talking neighbor Rocky. I'd read it all over again.

I’m going to hit 10 today whether that kills me or not >). So if I do manage 10: I read 1 physical book, 1 graphic novel, 2 Audiobooks, 1 short history book, 5 E-books. My most prevalent genre is LGTBTQ+ according to storygraph
