I liked the book as a kid because it was so different than anything I had ever heard before, but our 4th grade teacher read it to us, and I think that was a little too early. Although reading it as an adult feels like it was written for children.

VERY surprised to hear that it's being "banned" today, because I think we were assigned to read it 3 times in primary school, and my teachers directly used thia book to criticize communism.
