There's Her Fearful Symmetry by Audrey Niffenegger. And then there's The Lovely Bones, but that's about the narrator's experiences in Heaven.

The two I can think of are below, but knowing such a thing about either one is a major spoiler for them both, as it’s not entirely clear as you read what the deal is. Both are quite strange books and often make the lists when people ask for “weirdest of all time” books.

The Ghosts of Thorwald Place by Helen Power

It's a really good supernatural mystery as a murdered woman is tied to her death spot and rides up and down the elevator observing her neighbors.

The mystery slowly unravels and isn't predictable.
