Hello,This question may have been answered before, but I see many of the answers pertain to stacking books horizontally. I currently don't have a shelf to store books (hopefully soon I will), so I am mainly storing my hardcover books (pretty old ones) with sheet protectors horizontally. However, I am not stacking these hardcover books horizontally. I lay them horizontally at different locations around my room. Additionally, I heard if you lay books horizontally, the spine will eventually give way and crumble. People suggest storing books vertically since that will not put as much weight on the spine. Is it fine to lay hardcover books horizontally if I don't stack anything on them? Or is it best to still put these books up vertically? I am mainly looking for a way to keep these books in best condition for longest (they are kind of old).If you read this, thank you. Please let me know what you think.
