Other than a six month search for exactly the right bedside lamp so that it perfectly illuminates my book without shining light into my eyes?

I need a fat dog on my lap (or laying beside me) a charged vape and a stash of hard candies

(FYI the perfect lamp is a 24 inch knockoff tiffany with the switch on an extra long cord)

That lamp sounds amazing, although I only read on E-readers. I always have perfect light and I have all my books with me.

The dog on lap does sound cozy af. Too bad I'm not in a place where owning one is a good idea.

I'm mostly an eReader person too (love the backlight on kobo) but my kid likes me to read what he's reading so I needed a solution for those pesky paper book days lol

Honestly, a sack of potatoes wrapped in an electric blanket is the same as a dog... idk how you're going to simuate dog breath though lol

Hahaha that was funny. Thanks God I don't have kids yet. The blanket idea ain't bad. And maybe if I can entertain my had I would drink less wine.

Kids are great unless you like money, sleep or sex lol

Seriously though, try a weighted blanket. They are lovely when you read and (except for the smell) a lot like having a fat ass dog parked on top of you

I'm not a fan of sleep, but I'm addicted to the other two, I should consider being just an uncle's then. Weighted blankets? First time I hear about it. Let me check.

Get a velvety or fleecy one and get throw or twin size - a full size one is like fighting an octopus.

I leave a trail of cups (half-drank tea and teabag) in my favorite spots around the house to the annoyance of my SO 😄 I'm trying to do better, of course hehe

If I’m reading for recreation: couple puffs off the ol’ jazz cigarette and listen to some dungeon synth or dub.

If I’m reading for work/school: massive thermos of aggressively strong black coffee and listen to a space ambient playlist.

I generally read at night. I go to bed early with a cup of tea, get into some comfy jammies, and read for an hour or so before I go to sleep.

I used to have this thing for reading in a hot bath with a glass of whisky but I'm cutting out alcohol so don't do that anymore. I still read in the bath sometimes though.

Also I recently made a cozy little reading spot in my den so I've been reading more in the afternoon. I work from home so I'll take a couple of 20 minute breaks during the day, have a cup of tea and settle into my reading nook. 😊 it's the best on rainy days

I do not. But if I did, I'd wear a cardigan with elbow patches.

On my days off, when I wake up, I’ll just read for an hour or so before I get out of bed. Especially in these winter months.

Try what?

I'm having a difficult time Googling this product. What is it? Is it a pill? A drink? Did you mean yerba mate?

I always read while laying on my stomach in bed. Usually accompanied by a hot cup of tea.

I pace back and forth in whichever room, while reading. Always have for as long as I can remember. Was in for a nice surprise when started wearing a FitBit, lol.
