I remember I'd also heard that there saw no sa in the October Daye books so when I read a Local Habitation, I wasn't ready for that scene and had to take a breather, esp because >!Toby gets angry and the characters around her all just go 'that's just what he is, silly of you to not have recognised what he is earlier'!<
