At the moment, for me, one book comes to mind: Name of the Wind.
For me, it took some time to get into the story, but once I did, it was really enjoyable.
The book wasn't short, but I just kept wanting to read more.
Something about how the main character tells his own story. It was written very well. I felt like I could experience what he was describing. Like I was there. Really drew me in. Not all authors do that so effectively. And when the main character gets in trouble, you're just rooting for him the whole time.
What's a book that had you prisoner? (And why)
What about the book kept you invested? Was it the story, a particular character, a unique concept, a magic system? Etc.
(This isn't a book request. I'm just curious what book(s) kept people hooked. Everyone has different likes/dislikes. Interesting to see what books people really enjoyed)
