What I find interesting to everyone saying it's not the same as a totalitarian nation state, which of course it isn't, but begs the question, how do you think we end up with a totalitarian nation state? I'd argue accepting blatant re-writing works of art, not to mention that your favorite search engine gives different information depending on what region you live in, is a step in that direction.
