On the couch bundled up in blankets, book against my knees with a hand on top and my dog and cat on me or in bed on my side with the book on my bed. Both with YouTube ambience music playing and some tea ☕️ I try to make a nice moment when reading, it’s a little treat for me.

But I do listen to audiobooks as well doing literally anything and everything because I too have a very tiring day and fall asleep after like 3 chapters lol

I really like having an audiobook I'm listening to that I enjoy. It really motivates me to clean my house and do chores, go out for walks, etc. Things that make me feel productive even though I was essentially just 'reading' the whole time.

Though, I've been reading classics and they often don't translate well into audiobooks

For me it really relies on a good narrator. Especially if one is not native to the area and is faking an accent like southern US based books read by someone from California Lol no hate to booking the gig but The Clampetts aren’t the base for a good rustic vernacular 😅

Reading IS a treat! That’s why it’s frustrating how it quite feels physically tiring. Thank you! I’ll try the pillow/blanket on lap method. :)

Yea just prop it on a pillow or your knees and hold the base with a finger or two. But I totally get your grievance because some of these hardbacks are like unwinding with an encyclopedia lol
