I’m actually the opposite. I have a short attention span so when I’m nearing the end of a book I want to finish it quickly so I can move on to the next book.

I can relate. There's a love/hate relationship with finishing a good book for me, because when I'm done I kind of have to mourn the book and characters, and wanting to know what will happen to them long term, and even just the thought of knowing that rereading the book will never be like the first time I read it lol

Yep. I will catch up on chores as a way to distract myself till I'm mentally ready to finish. Drives my friends nuts who want to talk about it. Ha!

It honestly depends on the book. For the most part, yeah, I love savoring the end of a book. But there are other times I cannot wait to read what happens next and before I know it, boom, book is done

Per rule 3.14 No DAE, TIL, or Unpopular Opinion type threads. The answer to any question beginning with the words 'does anybody else...' is literally always yes, and the answer to any question beginning with 'am I the only one...' is literally always no. You are far from the only reader to have come up with this idea/habit/thought and we are not here to provide you with praise or validation. These threads should be rephrased to provide significant content for discussion and less clickbait titles, or posted in their respective dedicated subreddits. I was 100% not looking for validation (and, in fact, I did not ask if I was the only one; I affirmatively stated that I wasn't). I was genuinely curious about how others treat the ending of a book they were enjoying.

That said, if this post offends your moderate sensibilities, please remove it.
