I got halfway through and finally put it down. Your description is spot on.
I barely got half way through and had to add it to the DNF pile. It just drug on. Nothing was explained well, all the pointless banter and conversation got old and I didn't find the writing creative at all. Which is a shame because the overall idea and plot of the book sounded very interesting to me.
Exactly. The idea of a Library with knowledge beyond our wildest dreams and finding Guards to protect it is so appealing. The premise is why I kept reading.
Thank you for your input. Guess it's going on the DNF pile then.
Hah! Excellent one. I'm gonna have to steal that from you.
Dropped it within 50 pages the characters were awful and boring
65 pages in and I had to come here to ask if it's worth it. It's that bad.
Halfway is more than I could go, to be honest. Props to you for giving it more of a chance than I did.
I really like the premise, but I hate the writing! I’m reading the Atlas Paradox now and it’s not getting better, but I’m too invested at this point to give up.
Tried listening to it as well but the one doing Parisas part is so annoying!

Same here. I was so excited to read this. One could argue that my expectations were too high, but I genuinely don't think that was it.
Definitely, the premise is so intriguing. This could have been huge. Instead, we are stuck with unlikable characters(imo Parisa and Callum are the worst ones) who have only a semblance of depth and complexity. Better prose and dialogue would also have helped I believe.
But I understand being so invested that you just can't walk away. Good luck with Atlas Paradox! I hope the ending makes it all worth it.
I powered through and ultimately gave it a meh review. Wasn't sure if I'd read the next in the series but then it came up in my library holds and I said whatever and started it. Paradox is SO GOOD and absolutely got me back into the whole story. I feel like stuff actually happens in the second one? Also ended on a cliffhanger soooo....
Hello. Per rule 3.3, please post "Should I continue X" book recommendation requests in our Weekly Recommendation Thread. Thank you.

Haven't read it, but my own rule is that if it starts out shit and then gets worse, it probably isn't going to get any better.
