If you’re able to secure the spot with vehicles beforehand and swap with the truck I don’t see why not. However, if it means obstructing the roadway for an extended period then no. Also, the movers will want/expect to be in front of the home not down or across the street

Please get one. I live on a wide street and got lucky that we found parking right in front and we had a very small truck. Recently someone didn’t get a permit and it was an absolute clusterfuck on our street. Awful. I was stressed just looking at it from my window. If you are using movers they will get the brunt of the stress and screaming from people.

I got one when I moved this year. Put the signs up (I printed them myself with a hard copy of the permit)... it rained and some fell off. Went to the police station to get more. Highly recommend just getting the card stock/poster type they have at the stations. But it didn't matter much in the end. Because by the time the moving truck arrived, someone took down every sign, and we had to unload from the middle of the street anyway. The movers stuck the permit in their window and were fast. Still waiting for the permit bill to come in the mail.

Still, I would do it again. It beats getting fined if some busybody Karen type calls the city on you. At least you will have done your part, and Karen will have to just stay mad.
