Fells Point for music.

Eat at Ekiben for lunch.

Check out Cat’s Eye Pub. Live music every day, and people there will often know where other live music is.

Don’t go to anything owned by Atlas Group. It’s all mediocre, overpriced, and owned by racist shitheads.

Other areas to check out: Hampden, Remington, Charles Village, Old Goucher, Station North, Mt Vernon, Canton, Fed Hill

A $600 apartment seems exceedingly unlikely. Single rooms in houses are offered at $900.

If you find a studio/one bed in a decent neighborhood under 1200 you’re lucky.

You can find rooms in houses for $600. But the lowest for a studio/efficiency you’ll find is $800

Go to keystone corner for jazz

You can find a pretty complete list of every concert in the city at the BaltShowplace tumblr or on their IG of the same name as well as a list of all the venues and their addresses. You should look at Ottobar, Metro Gallery, the Crown, Keystone Corner, Joe Squared, Zissimos, and Holy Frijoles for music. The Monument Lighting is happening in Mt Vernon Thursday night, big Mt Vernon neighborhood event. No apartment of any size has been available for only $600 for like 15 years, in that price range you're getting a small room in a rowhome with roommates.

Follow all of that guy's advice. Cat's Eye is a must and it's in Fells Point which has plenty of other options on top of it.

Thursday you can check out Canton Square which seems to be more crowded. It's not everyone's favorite crowd but they have $1 beers at Claddagh and you'll see crowds at Lee's, El Buf and SoPro all in that little area.

Idk about “your oyster”. More like it’s reasonable to expect to find something shared for $600 with a little looking.

I saw a house the other day which they were trying to rent out 5 rooms at $900 each. It’s insane.

Check out a show at the Ottobar, one of the coolest music venues ever! There's several good bands playing Thu-Sun, and it's really an all around awesome joint

Yea that’s totally. But I think I’m being reasonable to say that 2-3 roommates at $500-700 each gives you access to almost every major “popular” neighborhood in the city. Might not always be the nicest place but you def have access to most of the city

This is a bit outside of the city but Fishhead Cantina in Halethorpe is a great music venue. I've always had a good time here. Fells Point, Hampden and Federal Hill are the best neighborhoods for wandering about. Crosstreet Market has great food and a solid coffee shop.

The Senator Theater often has artsy offerings. Games and Stuff in Glen Burnie is the best game store with weekly in store gaming events.

If you are looking to relocate on a small budget look into room rentals, will be your best bet.

Jazz/blues look up keystone corner for sure. In harbor east near the inner harbor, been once and a good time. Kind of an underrated gem.

An Die Musik is a good intimate venue for jazz. Mount Vernon in general is a nice place to walk around. Charles street will take you pretty safely from the harbor to Station North.

Stay away from residential areas near or past MLK Blvd. Baltimore st. is also pretty active cause that’s where all the strip clubs are so I’d stay away. You could also download the citizens app to help you know where most activity is happening. “The Crown” has live music (not always jazz) and has a mixed crowd of locals. Same goes for “Ottobar”. You MAY be able to find a private rental for around $800 but just do further research to make sure it’s not a scam.
