Hey Friends,

I have an old VW that I need to do some repairs on. But it's cold outside and this is a 6+ hour job I'm undertaking/attempting. It's not the type of repair that would work well on-street.

I've located a few DIY garages down in DC, but am wondering if there are any around here?

Thanks all!

Feels like this is the sort of question that gets asked every couple of years and there's no good answer. But if the length of time's the only reason you can't handle it on the street, might be worth looking on Nextdoor to see if anybody using a carriage house or similar for parking would let you rent it for a day or two?

I'd be ok with letting you use my garage outside of the city if you were interested.

I’ve got a one car garage in the Lauraville area you’re welcome to use as well. It’s small but I work on my E30 in there and have enough room generally. Let me know, always happy to help out a fellow car person

More of a cheap person than car person, but I've been called worse, so I'll take it.

OK, thanks all. Lemmie try and think thru all the flaws in my plan, including my ability to actually do this job.

I have done a good amount of work on my old vws and definitely wouldn't mind helping out. What's the project?

Air blend doors. Foam backing disintegrated and so the heat / ac don't function.
