I am thinking about going to the aquarium and the harbor to check it out. What areas should I avoid? What’s the safest parts? What’s the local attractions? Any suggestions are welcome!

What are you into? I'd say if you want to stay downtown do Ft McHenry, aquarium, Walter's Art Museum. AVAM is good. I really like Baltimore Museum of Industry and B&O Museum but might not be for everyone. Visit Fells Point. Mt. Vernon for nice neighborhood strolls to enjoy the architecture. Rawlings Conservatory is a pita to get to but really cool and often overlooked. A couple cool house museums are Mt Clare, Evergreen, Homewood.

Thank you, I just don’t know anything about it. I used to live in Atlanta and know sometimes you can end up strolling through some rougher parts so I just wanted to avoid that. I just like to travel and explore

They're good areas. Fells can have some issues on Friday and Saturday nights with rowdy bar crowds. I'd hit it during the day for your best experience.
