Breweries are likely the only spots that only serve beer

Not that I’ve ever been to. But if you are looking for good beer Max’s is the place you want

They’ve been “about to open” for 2 years lol I’m curious how it’s setup i the WICO building. Having outdoor seating for a brewery is pretty popular.

Mahaffey's in Canton has a rotating beer list, and the owner really cares about beer.

Agree. But also Stackhouse in Canton has a great beer selection, maybe second to Max's. Mahaffey's is cooler.

Max's Taphouse. Sure they have a few liquors behind the bar, but they have been serving a legendary quality and variety of beer for decades. Their Belgian Beer Fest (if they are still doing it post COVID) was always the bomb.

They definitely had the Belgian Fest this year and it was very crowded! Rare and Obscure is coming up, I think.

Honestly, the only time not to go to Max's is right before one of their festivals because the selection is more limited as they make room for the festival kegs.

Does it have to be beer only? Can't you just not order the non beer things if you don't want to?

The best beer selection in Baltimore is Max's. Wiley Gunthers in LP is another good one, they get some decently hard to get stuff. Another weirder suggestion is to just go to Lighthouse Liquors in Canton, they have an unbelievable beer selection and they have a little bar where many of their cans are available as singles for in-house consumption. All these places have liquor/wine, but you just, you know, not order it.

I’m moving up there in the not too distant future and considering jobs, I don’t really like liquor service and have years experience with beer tending… not trying to be snooty at all!

Oh....you're thinking as an employee. That makes way more sense now. Sorry about that.

You'd probably just want to get in touch with local breweries then. We have quite a few. Some serve liquor too, but most don't. I can't think of bars off the top of my head that serve no liquor at all.

Wiley Gunther’s for great beer and food. Max’s is also good

The canning station in Cross Street Market- it’s got another name and it always looks closed but there is lots of beer on tab. The Cross Bar in Fed Hill is a beer hall

What’s the beer only backstory? Why do you care if others are drinking wine or whatever?

Just curious!
