Hello all,
I am in the process of finding a place to live near fells point. The parking situation was described as “open parking”. The house I am looking at does not seem to have a drive way(I am looking at it in person next week).
Can anyone that lives in the area comment on parking? Do residents get parking permits with set spaces near by their house? It would only be one car I am bringing, which is nice.
Any info/advice is appreciated.
Thank you!

Parking is tough. About 2/3 of Fells parking requires a residential permit if you want to park more than 2 hours. Unfortunately this doesn't help much because A) there's a lot of residents and B) a lot of tourists etc coming and going for 2 hours looking for parking. No set spots.
The 1/3 of parking that is nonresidential permit is obviously even tougher. Basically I don't have too much of a problem finding parking in the day time during the week, maybe ten minutes of circling, but Thur - Sunday morning is really tight. I'm willing to walk s long ways but in the evenings on Friday and Saturday there is just nowhere to park. And the frequent festivals/special events are rough. This marathon thing on Saturday was a shit show with the tow trucks and what not, for example.
Solution: I work from home, so I do all car based errands on weekdays. Weekends I'm walking everywhere.
