This cat adopted me. I am not a cat person but she refuses to live with her owner and has set up shop at my place. Owner said they would continue to get her vaxxed but that hasn’t happened. It turns out her rabies vax expired in Feb. Is there kitty amnesty? Will Baltimore County lock me up? I need advice how to make this situation right.

BARC's Low-Cost Monthly Vaccine & Microchip Clinic is $6 for the shot + $10 for the annual license. Next one is April 1st.

Really great experience w this every time also bring cash they sell extra dog toys bowls leashes etc donated. They also often have food to make sure your creature doesn’t go hungry.

Just take her to vet for vax and most vets have the paperwork to get the license. Have vet check her for a chip and if so, you can change the contact info to you. If she’s not chipped, get her chipped. Good luck!

Just accept that you're going to have to take the initiative to get it taken care of. You could be potentially cited, but no one is going to show up on your door demanding proof. So just make a new patient appointment at your local vet. Welcome to being owned by a cat.

Most vets are not taking new patients right now, I called many and they cited 3-6 month waits and no walk ins for new patients. I was able to get an appointment for a rabies vaccine at the petco on Boston street in Canton. It was also incredibly affordable compared to a vet visit.

Thank you guys! Got a vet appt with Aardmore in next two days. They are indeed so nice there. Worth a drive. Used to take my dog there years ago.

Petco has a weekly clinic. You can make an online appointment easy peasy. Very affordable. Tractor Supply has weekly clinics too. I don't think a vet even bothers to know if your cat is behind on shots. I've never had one look at old records.

I’ve had good experiences with Aardmore. Call and explain the sitch, they will squeeze you in.

the vaccine is more important than the license. i'd get on that immediately, and worry about the license later.

(my neighbors have never licensed their dogs. no one in government cares unless someone calls 311. confirmed this when i asked animal control last year after getting a bogus report about a dog which didn't exist on my property.)
