I am moving to Baltimore over the summer and thinking about living in the Mt Vernon area. I have heard parking can be an issue especially if you work odd hours (which I will). Dose anyone have advice on how to handle parking in the area or if they get monthly passes what garages are good?

There is a parking garage on Read St, just east of Park Ave. It is only accessed by patrons of the garage, with remote control entrance for one's car.

Many of us use the informal system of paying to park on private property which are often found on alley streets, like Tyson, Morton, or Ploy

There is a small gated outside parking lot on Park Ave and Centre street. diagonally across from the Walters Museum.

Thank you! do you know if you can reserve in the lot across from the Walters Museum or is if first come first serve?

depending on where you live in mt vernon your apartment/house may come with alley parking! otherwise there are a lot of garages around, and street parking can get tough but is never completely impossible (saying this as someone who's used to NYC parking, so only having to walk a block or two is an unfathomable luxury)
