Every once in a while I like to remember what it was like when times were simpler back in college, being shoulder to shoulder in a bar drinking cheap beer. Any bars in canton like that?

Walts inn is what you want.
Uncomfortable, cramped, cheap beer and karaoke.

Go to Magerks Pub & Grill Federal Hill.
For the Eagles game recently it was packed, standing room only, with nothing but trash meatheads. You'll love it.

Claddagh and Looneys get so packed - especially in the summer, weekends and weekday VOLO nights. You'll have a lot of success on O'Donnell Sq if you're looking to add a sardine such as yourself to one of those cans.
I say that with jealousy of you because I am literally 27 and I can't hang like that anymore lol.

IDK about cheap beer anymore, but I'd say they can get packed, particularly in the summer. I've been to Southern Provisions, Claddaghs, and El Buffalo when they were "shoulder to shoulder" before.
Don't forget that St. Patrick's Day starts around 11am or sooner in Canton square :)
