There should be an entire sub reddit dedicated to Christmas tree kitties. They are so adorable!

kitten passes away in Christmas lights
some risks of Christmas trees for cats
how to keep your cat out of the Christmas tree
For anyone who wants a TLDR:
- lights (strangulation / electrocution)
- tinsel (strangulation / intestinal blockage)
- real pine tree (water & needles are toxic)
- ornaments (sharp hooks / broken bulbs)
- the tree can just plain fall over

Solutions:
-
Light-weight fake tree (no toxins or fall dangers)
-
No lights (no strangulation or electrocution)
-
Large, shatter-proof ornaments attached via string (no sharp hooks or sharp broken ornaments)
They also sell fake "pop-up" trees that are physically impossible for a cat to climb because they have no branches. You should have seen the look of disappointment on our cat when we set ours up.
