This is actually a perfect example of cinematic techniques that show that someone is a villain.

First off, a frog perspective is used. This makes the subject look bigger, and thus stronger. Secondly, the subject is lit from below (horror lighting), and since that is an unnatural angle of light, it messes with our mind and makes the subject look scary.
