How much does a bar of solid copper go for exactly?

That’s a pound, and it was like $30-$35.
I think you can also get a five pound bar, and different shapes.

I guess I now have a bronze bar on my wishlist

Where can I buy one?

Amazon and probably a lot of places that sell gold and silver collectibles.

Damn, I looked it up, only 4 bucks? I thought it was way more considering how much it gets stolen.

It’s around $30 for the brick/ingot. Old copper scraps for around $3.50 these days, at least around here.

Electrician here. Copper is pretty heavy - for example 500 kcmil wire is 1.54lbs per foot. I can spend a Sunday cleaning up some scraps and make $1k in one trip to the yard.

The biggest I ever scrapped from my old work was 4/0 and even that added up quick.

$4 per pound is a lot for the kinds of people who steal it
That's at least a bottle of cheap booze.
