The vast majority of the 150-400 billion stars in the Milky Way haven't been directly detected. Alpha Centauri is the nearest known star to Sol. TheSavouryRain t1_irw9cbm wrote on October 11, 2022 at 2:50 PM Nonzero, but very damn close to 0. There's a possibility of a very dim red dwarf somewhere near us, but it's incredibly unlikely, except for transient events (wandering stars coming closer than Proxima Centauri). Permalink 1
