Couldn’t order from the Sweetgreen in Ballston and when I drove by the windows were papered over. Any idea what’s going on there?

Check arlnow.com, they usually cover that kind of stuff.
Philz closed too, I think it’s becoming the norm.
Last I checked they had a sign on the door saying they were doing renovations to the kitchen or something along those lines.
Damn, what’s going on around Ballston?
The only relevant article I could find covers their opening -- back in late 2010.
The lease costs in Ballston and elsewhere in Arlington are so high that it is hard for these restaurants cover that they close in a year or 2. Then a new, hopeful bunch of small restaurateur's come in and in a year or 2 are also gone. The simple problem is, the new buildings and their owners have huge costs they must to cover so their rents are almost prohibitive except for the major restaurant chains.
They had a sign there that said they'd reopen in December, but it's now January so I got no clue.
Philz wasn’t a Ballston thing - they closed almost all their DC locations
Not even the big chain stores can survive around here. Ballston lost some big chains like Applebee's, B-Dubs, and some other big names.
This case sucks though because I went there as a kid in 2010 :(
Working from home means less.people buying lunch at work
That's the default sign you put on the door when you're going out of business.

It closed about a month ago. I’m not sure if there was a reason given or not.
