I’m starting an apt search for Dec/Jan/Feb in Arlington but have been struggling to find apts that allow 50lb dogs. We adopted him about 2 years ago and while his paperwork says he is a lab (or lab mix??), he looks like a pit. I’m not sure if his appearance would be an issue if the paperwork says otherwise.

Does anyone have any apartment building recommendations? Preferably 1 or 1bd+den or 2 bedrooms under $2700.

If the better route is to look for landlord owned places, what sites do you all recommend?

This was awhile back when we were getting our home remodeled in Arlington, VA but Horizons East West on on Old Dominion Drive allowed large dogs. We had a 60 pound lab.

We lived at Latitude for a while in Arlington (VA square neighborhood). There were some big dogs there and just checked their site and says weight limit is 75lbs and dog breed restrictions apply too. The rental fees are a bit pricey but maybe you can work out a deal. We negotiated a few things at the time pre pandemic. Good luck.

Meridian at Courthouse and Meridian at Ballston have no weight limit on dogs. I have a 75lb dog. I have a Google Earth file I made about three years ago that has all the major apartment complexes and their pet policies, if you're a Google Earth person. DM me your e-mail if you want it.

Riverhouse is in your price range and basically allows all dogs. They’ll say no pits but if you tell them you have a lab they won’t care. People have huge German shepherds, newfys, all kinds of dogs here.
