Anyone lives in Trove apartments? I've read mix reviews. Would love to hear anyone's experience with staff, any infestation problem, noise, amenities, etc.

Thank you. What do you mean roaches im every building? Do you mean the apartment units have a roaches infestation problem?
All of the apartments I’ve researched or lived in across Arlington and Alexandria have roach issues. They come and treat but honestly, there are a ton of people on top of each other which creates tons of garbage - there’s really no way to avoid it.
An engineer friend explained to me that the sewer system in this area wasn’t built to support this many people which is what led to the rats. I don’t recall his whole explanation but it made sense to me at the time.
Oh, so nothing specific to Trove specifically but the general geographical location has that issue? That's gross lol. Thank you for informing me.
I've never had rats or roaches in any building I've lived in in this area. I wouldn't say it's true it's the general area.
Thank you. Okay, interesting. Yeah I never heard of Arlington generally having a rodent and roach infestation problem. However, since I'm relocating I'm open to hear everyone's experience. It is really helpful!
I have a friend who lives in the Buchanan in Crystal City and he hasn’t ever seen a roach or rat. Water Park Tower is also very nice.
Wow. Did you live at Trove?
Yeah that’s not true
There are rats by the dumpsters and stuff sometimes but i haven’t experienced either in the buildings
I do agree I think the acoustics of the building are super weird if your windows face inward (it’s kind of in a small circle/square shape) in this outside common area they have but outward facing it seems pretty cute with nice balconies and stuff
Thank you! This is super helpful!
Think about whether you’d mind a 20-something version of a college dorm. If you don’t mind that, go for it.
I haven't lived in that building myself, but what I've found is apartments generally always have mixed reviews. Lot of times, the reviews seem really arbitrary like people who never have lived in an apartment before.
Loud noises, hearing your neighbors, not liking the management staff, etc are things I would usually ignore.
If a building has like 4-5 stars (5 would be a little suspicious) I'd be pretty comfortable moving there. 3-4, I'd read some of the reviews and if roaches, bed bugs, etc are a common theme I'd avoid. If it's "the walls are paper thin!" idc. Anything below 3 I would typically ignore at that point, that's a lot of negative reviews.
Thank you!
>Thank you!
You're welcome!
I live close by and it’s a nice building but kind of expensive being so far from the metro. I think you’d find the same luxury and price in pentagon city tbh. They do have a free shuttle that goes between pentagon city metro and back in the mornings and evenings which is super convenient if you commute. It’s also a very dog friendly spot that’s connected to suburbs and parks but also just off of 395 if you have a car.
Thank you. Do people keep their dogs on a leash?
Yes maybe minus the occasional person but not in any public spaces

The area definitely has rats and there are cockroaches in every building in this area. The amenities aren’t bad and while not everyone is disrespectful, loud music and tvs can be a whole thing. You can hear them on the street from 4-5 stories up.
As for the staff, Felicia moved over there from The Wellington and was well known for being a lazy jerk who would do the bare minimum only if forced. The evening concierge is amazing.
