Now that I think about it, doesn't that mean that using the gun will also make something bad happen to you? Like using the gun will suddenly change reality so that you lost an arm because of the target or something?

I’m writing this as my last message

I don’t know who will find it , or even if it will still exist after this but… well here’s hoping

This gun I have will change the history of anyone I shoot so that it was justified , does it make them a criminal? A murderer? I don’t know until I kill them and then history changes but I remember it , I remember all of it. I’ve done some horrible things as it stands but overall I’ve been lauded as a hero, but I know deep down I’m a monster , so I’ve decided to use the gun on myself.

My hope is that the world will be better off or that the history that is written won’t be to destructive , but I can’t imagine a history where almost everyone agrees it was a good idea I killed myself was a great thing without something bad happening as part of it , but that’s ok , I’m fine being the villain this time if there’s even a chance that the damage I have done so far is undone , though maybe I may become the biggest monster humanity has ever seen, I guess I won’t know after I pull this trigger.

Signed

A. H.

If you want an extreme karma imbalance you do something stupid like that. Especially if the act was malicious. Otherwise just use the butterfly effect and make sure the end cause is just a simple misunderstanding. In the end you can generate ALOT of GOOD KARMA by just using a rubegoldberg machine to keep people away from accidents and their own mistakes. I use laughter and education personally it helps avoid any traumas that some idiots think need directly faced to be understood. Frankly I don't trust anyone that tries to cross that boundary.

The target was in front of me, Andy, my childhood bully. The woman who sold me the gun swore that I could use it in plain sight and get away with murder. She said it would fix everything. I prayed she was right.

I saw him for the first time in decades in the school pick-up line for our kids. Ironic. It was the same place he made my life a living hell but there he was, all grown up. You’d think karma would have dealt him back even a portion of what he gave to me but his life was perfect. Good job, good wife, good kids. Everything I had to work hard to earn he had handed to him on a silver platter.

Don’t worry, I wasn’t crazy. I wasn’t going to hurt any of them. Remember, I said Andy was my target. It was almost too easy. I walked up behind him, said his name, and shot him in the head before he had time to recognize what I was holding.

There was screaming of course. Not from him, but we were at a school. I felt sorry for the kids but it needed to be done. The circle of violence at Jefferson had to be resolved.

The next thing I knew I was wrapped in a some sort of tinfoil blanket in the back of an ambulance. They said I was in shock and that I should take all the time I needed. I didn’t appear to be in handcuffs which was good. It appeared the woman’s word was good. An officer approached, but kept his distance to exchange whispers with my EMT.

…yes, he’s a hero…

…wishes he wasn’t…

…four rooms before he found his son…

“Excuse me, officer?” I interrupted, the scraps of information sparking a guilty squeeze in my stomach. Hopefully the kids weren’t scared too badly by the circumstances manufactured by my weapon. “Do you think my daughter and I will be able to leave soon?”

The Officer looked at the EMT who quickly jumped in to explain the situation.

“Mr. Lewis is in shock, as you can see. You should probably come back later.”

“That’s kind of you, but I swear I’m feeling much better now. See?” I started to get up but the EMT quickly moved to block my exit and settle me back in my seat.

“Mr. Lewis, I’m afraid I’m going to have to insist.”

“Oh, alright. But will someone please get Emily? I know you police types need your statements but she must be scared out of her mind with all this,” I featured vaguely at the various emergency responders on scene. Seemed like overkill to me but what did I know about these things?

The officer once again looked at the EMT and I lost my temper. “Officer, please. I am not a child and while I appreciate the help Ms-“ I squinted to see if I could spot a name tag and was embarrassingly forced to substitute a vague wave towards her person. “Ms. EMT is not a doctor. Please tell me what I need to do get my daughter and go home.”

The officer straighten his spine and nodded. Finally!

“Sir, I apologize but I am not here for your statement. You already gave that.”

I blinked. “Ah, of course. Then what’s the hold-up? Am I being arrested?”

“No sir, not at this time. But my supervisor requires a positive identification of the body before transport.”

My eyes lit up. I would get to see the fruits of my labor. “Of course, I would be happy to identify Andy-“

“Sir you misunderstand,” said the officer, growing tenser the longer we conversed. “This isn’t about Mr. Brown. Only immediate family can identify a body. I apologize but we require your identification of a girl we believe to be Emily Lewis. There were several fatalities in her classroom as it was adjacent to that of Thomas Brown.”

Way too dangerous to use.

>be idiot, walking with the gun.

Shoot a guy, instantly see a crowd if dead people, bodies and concrete still burning from the flame thrower fuel. Your bullet passes through the mans neck, and breaks the regulator off the improvised flame thrower he had been killing people with.

It thows fuel into the air and covers you and him before touching a burning puddle on the ground and lighting up.

You scream and the flames take you.

You wake up in pain, under a burn tent t the hospital. You lost your ears, nose and one ifbyour eyes. 3rd degree burns over 80% of your body, lucky to still be breathing.

Your family comes in, apparently you are a "hero". Some mad man killed over 600 people in a night club with a flame thrower, and some prelocked doors. He then whent into the street and killed a few more people. You stopped him, you were a hero.

You sir there depressed. All those deaths are because of YOU, and you are disabled for life because of YOUR evil choice.

You realize you are the evil one, and this horrible pain, the horribles lies you tell the world and must live with are all your fault.

Tl;dR no thanks I wouldn't use that gun.

100%

Literally every person you murder with it, must have done something morally justifying the murder. Essentially any use is a minimum 2 cases of attempted homicide or similar.

PBlove t1_iwvrcyi wrote

Even then it totally messes up your schedule and pulls a lot of cops off other duties to investigate something they would not have had to.

It also makes anyone you shoot at a criminal.

PBlove t1_iwvrihn wrote

Actually that thought makes me wonder if you could essentially cause a world war. If the person you were shooting was so impossible to turn into a criminal.

True, though the cop thing would have happened even if the gun was normal. And I don’t know if you can really label as “criminals” all the people who were killed “justly” by people utilizing the castle doctrine. Though “entirely justified” does imply no one disagrees…

Maybe they make it a hunting accident instead and everyone considers you justified because the person you killed was walking in the woods in full (naturally colored) furry regalia. No creating a criminal, just a dumbass.

Woah! Or enlists you both into opposite armies, regardless of nationality, and places you on an existing battlefield. That would be pretty wild.

Though your thing of creating an entire war is a whole new level of multiverse madness lol.

Imagine trying to get back from that.

Hell it could be a good plot.

Dude wants to kill X for something personal, god refuses his plea for the killing is unwarrented, the devil refuses his plea for the motive is honorable, as he laments the situation he is visited by the "god" of chaos who gives him the gun.

Guy goes to the person he hates and shoots him.

Flashes to the middle of a world war, the guy is an enemy soldier, dude freaks out, tries to peace together what he missed when the world changed in that instant.

Flees the battlefields trying to find a way to set right what has happened.

Eventually he fails he cannot ever bring back what was. The moral of the story is that nothing ever stays the same things always change. Chaos occasionally shows up to mock him. (Like lean against a wall eating an apple sort of thing while main char does something. "That won't work you know" kinda thing. The main character kills himself trying anyways... And fails.

Final scene cuts to the chaos god in his etherial lounge, hanging up a picture of that first shot being fired. Talking with War the horseman of the Apocalypse. The picture next to the one of the main charcter is the assassination of arch duke Ferdinand.

Chaos: "See, two out of three world wars each with one shot" War: smoking a cigar "Show off"

Fade to black.
