LATEX PAINT can be disposed of safely in the trash. Pack the can with crumpled newspaper to absorb the remainder or allow this paint to dry out. If it's good paint that's been stored decently (ie-not decades old stale stuff) maybe check the Habitat for Humanity Restore as I see half used cans there. I dunno what the requirements or needs are for donating so maybe give them a call first.
