I’ve lived in Worcester for a long time and have always struggled trying to find things to do that aren’t centered around alcohol. I like to go out, socialize, have fun and am not looking to spend a ton of money every time I do (like going to an an escape room). Does anyone have any good ideas for first dates, Friday nights out? What do people do between the ages of 18 and 21?

I love karaoke at cafe neo! Even if you’re not drinking/singing, it’s fun to watch others :-) also you could scope out the free play barcade or play board games at redemption rock. I know these are all places that serve alcohol, but I usually go to redemption rock and get hot tea lol. Off the rails has live music. Nu kitchen and root and press sometimes have game nights. We’re also getting into winter time where you could sled at Greenhill park or go ice skating behind city hall. Good luck!!

Plenty of walks/hikes in the western side of the city.

We have a nationally ranked Frisbee golf course (and another one that's just kind there)

Redemption Rock serves coffee and other non-alcoholic beverages - you can go there and play board games.

Multiple museums in the city

Railers hockey

Pirates arena football

Braveheart baseball/woo sox

School Yahd up in Boylston (about a mile past O'Connors)

There's often stuff in the oval behind city hall (they used to do Shakespeare there in the summer)

Hanover theater

West Boylston cinema is great for a cheap movie night (limited showings though)

Wrestling at the white eagle on Thursdays (we have one of the largest wrestling scenes in the country, apparently)

Free Play Arcade is pretty fun. Is a bar but there's plenty of games and it's not a bank-breaker.

I would find a sport to get into or something similar. I play hockey north of worcester and it's a great way of getting out for me.

Central Rock Worcester is usually pretty fun in the evenings, can be a bit pricey though

I am hosting a Flea Market at Hotel Vernon on December 10th from 12PM-6PM. A bar might not be what you’re looking for, but there will be plenty to do that doesn’t involve alcohol :)

I admittedly moved out of Worcester over a decade ago (but it is still my hometown so I lurk here) I’d recommend checking out the New England Pinball league, I used to play in Cambridge every Tuesday and had a blast, I’d bet they have plenty of weekly locations within a reasonable drive from Worcester if not in town. Always had a great time, most of the locations serve alcohol but a good chunk of people didn’t drink.

Wrestling Open Thursdays at 8 at the White Eagle. $10 for the best two-hour show in town and the most welcoming bunch of people in the state.
