Verizon trucks have been installing large boxes in Mill St area. Anyone know if this is potentially FiOS expansion?

Bummer. That was my first thought, but began pipe dreaming (again, like during the municipal internet discussions).
May switch to 5g when it's available here then. I'm increasingly frustrated with Charter.
We live on Bell Hill and made the switch to Verizon’s 5g home service and it’s been excellent so far. Faster and more stable connection than what we were getting from Charter, at half the price.
LOL cable TV. How's 1998 treating everybody?
I spoke with a team working on Marcy St in early September, the lead told me FIOS was coming to my block within a few months. Who knows how accurate that is…
Will look into this. I feel like either way it should be an option.
We're not neighbors, but close. Fwiw I ran my address through FiOS availability checker this evening.
It said fios was coming within the next few weeks. I hope so! Id share the screenshot if reddit would allow me.
Oh, interesting! I picked a random address on Marcy (I’m around the corner) and it just said not available. This is good news!
Will grab a pic if I have time between meetings tomorrow.
Pretty good I guess
Ugh, where is this exactly?
It’s 5G. Tried it, it was garbage for me. I called Charter to cancel anyway, figured might be able to do something with them, they matched the price of 5G.

The people making decisions regarding internet providers in the city are more concerned with making sure that cable tv is affordable, so I'm not getting my hopes up, but any sort of competition would be a really good thing. I believe the city is currently in the process of negotiating a new 10-year contract with Charter, though.
