It doesn’t seem to break down violent crime though. I’d expect in this time period a rise in crime between people who know each other, ie: domestic violence. I’m shocked at Hadley being so high. Its a nice little quiet town-or so i thought.

The statistics are broken down per capita. It's why Boston who had 39 homicides versus our 9 is further down(up?) on the list than us- they have a larger population. If you did their numbers with our population they'd be # 1.
Hadley has a small population so their incidents equate to a higher per capita.

Yea, exactly. The idea is how likely you are to be a victim in said location. Its still a statistic, so certainly not a perfect measure.

For reference, the FBI considers violent crime as homicide, rape, robbery and aggravated assault. Those individual occurrences are in the stats for all Worcester County towns at the very bottom of the piece.
