I don’t know about “haunted”, but some really cool old ruins that are open to the public are Rutland Prison Camp, the stone remnants of an old summer house at the south end of Long Pond in Rutland and the grave for the victims of the Naramore murders at Riverside cemetery in Barre (I know this last one does have some ghost stories surrounding it).

Rutland Prison Camp was part of the Massachusetts correctional system until it closed in the 1930s. It was for sex offenders and those sent there were committed for life without parole. It was completely self contained with a farm for crops, dairy and cattle. Before it had it's own cemetery the prison's dead were buried in unmarked graves. It's rumored there's hundreds of those and that the grounds are haunted. When I was a kid in Boy Scouts we did community service there clearing brush and building trails. We camped there and were told all kinds of ghost stories and didn't wander far after dark. We didn't experience anything paranormal but the ghost stories fed our imaginations. No spooks but a nice place to explore.
