I made the mistake of going last August. It was dry. So depressing.

One of those things you can’t control. We had the fortunate part of going during a very rainy/misty day on a trail we couldn’t find again if we tried. One of the more magical experiences, and even came across quite a few elk.

Went there this past summer to the main HOH trail, and was not the best experience. No dogs allowed which we didn’t know(and were traveling from MN so had no where else to put her) on top of overcrowded and dry.

I’ve been there many times before and it is pure magic. That’s part of why my recent trip was so sad.

Awesome. Everyone should get to experience it at least once.

Yeah, I was there for Independence Day weekend and it was very cool and wet, so much so that the Blue Glacier was entirely shrouded by fog. I went back for Labor Day and it was so hot and dry and there was smoke outside the valley. Really wild how much a difference one month can make.
