Road sand storage, keep it dry so it flows and scatters out of sanding truck. Will be a loader delivered when needed. They are scattered strategically around county

When I first noticed these I figured the shed roof was to keep the sand dry and then started imagining the first time they tried scooping some up during a big freeze in the days before they had sheds. Go out there to find their wet sand has frozen like a rock.

Sheds have been around for at least hundreds of years.

Thousands, even. I think humans first discovered roofs sometime in the Neanderthal days.

Maybe my delivery was off, but I was thinking when DOT first piled up sand and didn’t use a shed.

Tough crowd.
