Any good foraging in East Washington?

Hello, Washington residents! I'm going to Gonzaga soon and I'm super excited to start hiking! Are there any good resources you recommend that has good information about foraging in the area? Thank you in advance!

In grant county we have tons of blackberries so I’d guess they grow over there too!

Evidently huckleberries are plentiful, too.

Thanks for the info. I'm going to keep trying. I found some info about the vegetation on the west but I can't find anything about the east lol

Out in Spokane it's mostly mushrooms in the spring or autumn. There are wild alliums, too. Look specifically at Spokane foraging and see if you can find a mycelium hunters group on Facebook or something.

You'll have to get out of the city to do some good foraging as Spokane itself is kind of gross. Try out north near Green Bluff or west in Cheney. You can find a lot of resources on indigenous gathering in the area for some inspiration.

There is a lot to the east. Once you get out of the Spokane metro area head for the hills. Lots of huckleberry (and the occasional bear) so just be careful. Spokane can be a great place and it can also suck just like anywhere else. You are not far from incredibly beautiful country. Go Zags!

In E. WA if mostly go for huckleberries. Unless you know EXACTLY what to look for mushroom wise, don’t play around with them. You might die.

Tons of huckleberries to the north of Spokane which makes for great foraging while hiking. I’ve had great luck with Morels 1-2 hours north of Gonzaga in both WA and ID as well. You’ll have a great time here.
