When they legalized some forms of medical marijuana in Georgia about five years ago, they made it legal to possess, but they didn't provide any legal means to obtain these medicines.
This Catch-22 made it so that people had to find some way to get the medicines outside Georgia, then illegally bring them across the border so that they could use them legally here.

That's awesome!

It helps my spinal pain so much.
Sadly, my state would rather I drink bourbon and snort pills than use cannabis...but maybe one day!!

Governor still has to sign off on it and Abrams lost that election so we'll see how it goes.

Not mentioned in the article, but in no way is medical access to marijuana available to everyone who would benefit from it in Georgia. Only very specific cancer treatment and maybe a few other things qualify AFAIK.

It’s low THC oil, not medical cannabis. And since you can currently buy Delta 8 hemp and cbd products online and in stores it’s hard to understand how this is a win for anyone except for the two companies who got the exclusive contract.

I'm never not calling him this from now on.
At least he's on his final term. We may have two democratic senators, but we won't be a blue state till we win the governorship.

I'm from south eastern kentucky. I have stage 4 cancer. I guarantee I wouldn't have survived chemo without illegal cannabis. Even if they do legalize it here I'm still going to buy it illegally because it'll be a cold day in hell before the government makes a red cent in taxes off something they would've put me in jail for just a year ago. Yeehaw fuck the law.

I dunno how your legislature works but the only reason my state of Missouri got medical, and then a couple months ago recreational, is because they were both ballot initiatives.
https://norml.org/kentucky-marijuana-legalization-legislation-is-pending/
The problem in your state appears to be your Senate who didn't even allow the last marijuana bill that passed the house to have a committee in the senate.
So if you wanna blame someone, blame Republican Robert Stivers.
