My wife worked at a great dog daycare for 2 years. Loved her work and still knows over 200 dogs by name 3 years later when we see them at the park.
A dog daycare is not a safe place to work. Special needs people could be seriously injured, especially if they don't recognize social queues (dogs are more expressive than humans, but most dont realize how subtle it is). I hope they were under direct supervision at all times. One dog can do a lot of damage, and the daycare environment can induced a lot of stress in the dogs.
I'm glad they are getting some enrichment, but its dangerous and I'm not one to agree with unpaid labour.
