Iʻd love to see Adam Sandler sing a little song while playing the worldʻs largest ukulele near the Balto statue.

That's a hanukiah (8+1 branches), not a menorah (7 branches).

Also Jewish, Jewish school, around several Jewish communities, and I don't know anybody that calls it a menorah unless it's a song lyric.

Isn't there a thing about religious symbols in public spaces? There seems to be a rucus every time a cross or nativity scene goes up in some town...

This is no different than a Christmas tree display. I think you’re confusing a display that is associated with a religious holiday (e.g. a Christmas tree, Easter egg/bunny display, or frankly even a Jack o lantern) with a display of a scene/object that is religious in and of itself (e.g. a cross, passion play, nativity scene, or something depicting something unmistakably and purely religious). Jewish teaching is very clear that the menorah itself isn’t a religious or holy object, despite its ties to religious tradition.
