Reduce the materialistic aspect of buying pets, reducing the ease of profits for unhealthy breeders, pushing people to shelters to adopt rescues more etc etc.

I hope this gets put into policy everywhere. This will save so many critters from breeding mills, unsafe living conditions, and unnecessary euthanasia.

Breeders are too often inhumane. Breed as many as possible, ditch the ones that don’t sell and can’t be used to breed more. My boxer is a rescue, she’s the sweetest thing in the world but is far smaller than healthy for a full grown boxer, and has taken years to not be afraid of everything. Vets say was used for breeding while too young, and likely borderline malnourished the entire time because she existed only to pump out litters of puppies. When she couldn’t anymore, she was abandoned.
