I do always find The tourism opportunities are not fully taken advantage of: You have
- poachers; and
- fat dentists from Missouri that want to show how tough they are by hunting ‘big game’ that can’t shoot back
Why not just give them permits to hunt the poachers?
And yes, I am well aware of the bullshit reasons of “it takes the old/sick out of the herd/ecosystem so the species can survive” but the herd/ecosystem survived JUST FINE without trophy hunters; AND the whole “money for the permits benefits the locals” - I guarantee it’s no where near the same as tourism would

Human lives aren't worth as much, and kinda frowned upon to brag about taking.

I am less upset about them taking poachers who are happy to hunt an animal to extinction, than I am about them killing a lion because it makes them “feel good”

Paradoxically hunting permit revenue usually goes towards conservation efforts. Adam ruins everything did a bit on it.

Yeah - I get that - put you can only charge one asshole once to kill a lion, where you can charge tourists over and over again to see the same lion.

I don't dispute that at all, and I'm in favour of eliminate the poachers/hunting all together.
