The story oddly gives no explanation of what happened to the kidnapper babysitter. Did that person raise her until adulthood? It sounds like she still considered that person to be her mother until getting this news. Must turn your world upside down.

From another article I saw, she ran away at 15 and while she confronted who she knew as her “mother”, it doesn’t appear that there has been any response from the police who are waiting for a DNA match under their purview.

Google and read other articles. As already said, she ran away at 15. She also stated that she had a bad childhood, was sheltered and not allowed out, and the reason she was given was that she was brain damaged from a home birth. It doesn't sound like she's at all upset to find out that her "mother" was her kidnapper (or an accomplice) and not really her mother.

Abused by her kidnapper too. Tragic story as it unfolds. Only 20 mins away from her family her whole life.
