I've never understood why people applaud this, it should have become a worldwide standard decades ago.

That being said, I absolutely loved telling customers at my old job that we didn't use plastic bags anymore and see them rage!😅

Agree this should have been adopted more widely earlier, but societies move at different speeds on different priorities.
