What a sweet story. Happy the couple pulled through that life-changing event.

That's adorable. They took what could really be a traumatic experience and turned it into something beautiful.

For sure. I think a big part of falling for someone in the early stages is finding that you have things in common, and then realizing the other person respects you, has your back, and enjoys all the quirks that others think are weird. He had this one in the bag. :)

My father suffered brain damage after a car accident and thought my mother was very nice and wanted to marry her.

This is a bittersweet read for me. My husband's coworker and friend went through something similar. His wife had such severe RA that she was in constant daily pain. They tried everything with no success until the only option left was something similar to ECT and an induced coma which could possibly reset her pain receptors. But it would also completely wipe her memory.

They went through with it as a last resort and he stayed and took care of her and she had no memory of him. This went on for about two years before he died of an unexpected heart attack.

It fucks me up that he never got his wife back and now she's left confused and alone.

Article's Title: Experience: I lost my memory – and fell in love with my husband for the second time

tl;dr :

I couldn’t remember my name, and everything made me laugh, even being asked to lie down for the CT scan. The doctor told Richard I’d be better in a few weeks. But six disorienting months later, after an MRI, I was diagnosed with post-concussion syndrome, and cognitive, communication and memory difficulties caused by my head injury. I couldn’t remember anything about Richard. I’d forget I’d turned on the cooker.
