So you're saying you don't want to get millions of LGBT people together in DC at the same time to express some choice words to the US government?

Choice words don't seem to be cutting it. Why not have worldpride hosted in a country that actually supports and accepts LGBT regardless of what part of the country they live in

I think taking it away because of what was done to them would be a bad look. It's not like people wanted to have their rights stripped. It's not like this is an award to the US.

I'll do you one better when anyone's rights are infringed on it's everyone's problem.

I'm a brown straight male but that doesn't mean I don't have a dog in the LGBT fight or the trans fight or any other fight, I'm human, and every human deserves to live a life of safety and health both mentally and physically regardless of where they live.

unrelated to this event. The US should not be denied the right to host it because of the actions of a few states. DC was the runner up and got it because Kaohsiung declined after being awarded the honor due to disagreements.

yes they should be denied! enjoy your downvotes lol!

EDIT here's your deleted reply you posted 22:57 CST:

>Ok lets deny the US any major world events. Lets punish everyone for the actions of a few. Lets ban them from the Olympics to because of the actions of a few states. Punish the athletes who've worked so hard.

the first part? yup! now you're getting it! except no one mentioned individual athletes needing to be "punished" tho; there's no reason to reach for the extremes of targeting individuals to prove your weird point, and idk why you'd think anyone would support that...individuals are not countries. we're talking about nations, so please stay on topic.

Well tbf trans rights are under attack right now but i mean where isn't that the case

citytiger OP t1_iuzqcy4 wrote

again the actions of a few states should not bar a US city from being able to host the event especially one of the most LGBT friendly cities in the country.

Even though it is LGBTQ+. It definitely is in alignment with the rights. Because even if you take something away from what might not seem irrelevant, it definitely directly affects them just as equally due to the demographic of the group.

Definitely is interesting to have it be so heavily funded to what recently happened.

I in no way want Trump, DeSantis, or Cruz to win 2024. However the idea of the world's largest Pride Party happening right outside their window does amuse me

Is the love parade in Berlin considered an LGBT event? Because if that's true D.C. residents will need to prepare for a crowd like this.
