It says the dog is 16. A 9 year old dog is an old dog.

Yeah usually just really big dogs though. Great Danes live 8 to 10 years typically.

9 is starting to get old for a dog, though most breeds don’t die at that age. It’s like being 60 for a human: dropping dead probably won’t happen for awhile but health problems tend to start piling up and some people do die of natural causes.
