I always feel like you hear about so many medical breakthroughs in animal models and then it never goes anywhere from there. Like UCSF is working on an artificial kidney that would do away with the need for transplants and dialysis. Apparently animal models prove it works and it’s been ready for human trials a few years now… but nothing is happening. Makes you wonder 🤷🏻♀️

Mice! Ugh. I used to think the same way but after some reading, I learned that we are weirdly similar (even when they haven't 'humanized' the mice). I still can't help being upset by that. I will be wat hinges closely to see human studies and then trials. I love molecular medicine! Let's hope they find the right switch to flip, to the right light.
