If this is what I think it is My understanding of this spinal stimulation technology from listening to some reports on bbc world service the other month is that it’s already been helping paralyzed people walk again… so yeah… it needs to be in use everywhere immediately. This is the kind of thing where we cannot restrict access based on money…. Everyone deserves a chance to restore full function if possible.

As a fellow stroke survivor, this news is awesome. I’ve seen so many people in rehab, unable to regain their motor skills etc. this makes me so happy and also so grateful that my motor skills and everything else have almost recover from a stroke five months ago.

Don’t the motor end plates of muscle loose the ability to allow a contraction if the don’t see stimulation after about 6 months? How is this possible after 12 years?

It's called atrophy. If it's not being used, it shrinks & looses contractility. This is a wonderful treatment that will benefit anyone that is in need. Now the after 12 yrs part....not sure. Let me click on the link.

This is incredible! And it sounds like they only have to receive the stimulation once a month? I figured it was continuous! That’s amazing.
